Second graders in Ms. Byrnes’ class at Deauville Gardens East Elementary School are working on an author study of Jan Brett. They kicked off the study by reading, “The Mitten,” which tied in to the winter animals unit. Each student chose an animal to hide in the mitten and noticed that these are many of the same animals that hibernate in the winter.
