First graders at Great Neck Road Elementary School recently read “Leaf Man” by Lois Ehlert. After learning about the journey of a man made of leaves and his connections to nature, the students were tasked with creating their own creatures out of leaves. Each student designed a unique leaf character and wrote about its different characteristics.
