As part of their social studies curriculum on Native Americans, the first graders at Susan E. Wiley Elementary School recently completed a hands-on lesson in time for Thanksgiving. After learning about different traditions in the Native American culture, students in Ms. Clark and Ms. Brown’s class wove their own Native American placemats to bring to their own Thanksgiving dinners. After the placemats were completed, they were each laminated.
