Students in Ms. Jakubowski’s class in the elementary summer program discovered how lightning and thunder forms. After watching a short video, the class discussed what lightning is and why they hear thunder. Following the lesson, the third graders created an umbrella craft using paper plates, crayons and blue pipe cleaners.
