Students in Ms. Newman’s fourth grade class at Deauville Gardens East Elementary School recently completed a Junk Bot challenge. After learning about recycling, students discussed ways they can be creative using different types of trash that would otherwise be thrown in the garbage. Students were challenged to collect items and use them to create a Junk Bot. Students created sketches of initial designs, and used problem-solving and critical thinking skills to assemble their Junk Bot projects. To complete the challenge, the students wrote creative stories about their Junk Bots.
