Eighth grade students from Copiague Middle School are getting a firsthand lesson in foreign language as they connect with pen pals across the world.

The students in Mr. Korn’s Italian class are exchanging letters on a regular basis with students in Tortoli, Sardegna. Mr. Korn made the connection with the Italian students via the internet, and the pen pals have been connecting with their peers during the last few months. The Copiague students are writing letters in both English and Italian, while the Italian students are doing the same, so both can practice their language skills. The students write about a different topic during each exchange to help build their language base
