Second grader at Deauville Gardens West Elementary School have been learning all about traditional fairy tales and fractured fairy tales. Students learned how to compare traditional and fractured fairy tales using a double bubble map. They also created “wanted” posters for the villains they read about in both traditional and fractured fairy tales. For the writing portion of the lesson, the students designed their own gingerbread houses for the gingerbread characters they read about in different versions of the Gingerbread Man. They wrote their own persuasive writing to convince a gingerbread character to live in their gingerbread house. The second graders shared their persuasive writing with their classmates both in the classroom and at home.
