Grandin Named Director of Special Education

Copiague School District has appointed Danielle Grandin as director of special education, effective July 1. She formerly served as the coordinator of elementary special education for Copiague since 2012.

“Copiague is a great place to work and learn,” Ms. Grandin said. “I am looking forward to this new position in order to promote growth, progress and development for our students and staff.”

Prior to joining the Copiague School District, Ms. Grandin worked as department chair for special education at Lindenhurst School District. She also served in various teaching-related positions including as a first grade, special education and dual language teacher.

Ms. Grandin holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Buffalo State College and a master’s degree in literacy education and special education from Dowling College. Additionally, she completed an advanced graduate certificate program in school district administration from Stony Brook University.
