It was an evening all about the seniors on Dec. 3 in the high school’s cafeteria as local area senior citizens had a chance to connect with seniors from the Walter G. O’Connell Copiague High School Class of 2020.
The annual senior to senior dinner gives the students and the seniors a chance to celebrate the holiday season together. Dressed in their holiday best, the students welcomed guests and escorted them to their tables. The Walter G. O’Connell Copiague High School Madrigal Choir, under the direction of Gina Occhiogrosso, provided the holiday tunes for the evening, singing arrangements that encouraged the audience to sing along.
Following the performance, the students lined up to serve dinner to the senior citizens. When dinner was complete, the guests and students made their way to the dance floor, where they had plenty of opportunity to show off their dance moves. At the end of the evening, the raffle tickets distributed at the door gave the senior citizens the chance to win one of more than three dozen door prizes.
