Copiague Middle School

Social Studies

Social studies in Copiague Middle School is an exciting subject.  The teachers and the students make history come alive through literature, technology, research, projects, plays, writing exercises and class trips.  Sixth graders study world history from the beginning of time to the Renaissance.  Seventh graders study American history from Native Americans to the causes of the Civil War.  Eighth graders learn about the Civil War and the development of modern America.  All eighth grade students must take a state assessment based on their seventh and eighth grade studies.
