Copiague School District has appointed Jeffrey White as assistant superintendent for finance and operations, effective July 1.

Mr. White joins the district after serving as interim superintendent for business operations and purchasing agent for the Pocantico Hills Central School District, where he was responsible for the development and maintenance of the district’s $31 million operating budget. Prior to that, he served as assistant superintendent for business and administration at the City School District of New Rochelle, where he was responsible for the operating budget that served 11,000 students in 11 buildings. 

In addition to his experience within the educational sector, Mr. White also served as a division controller and assistant corporate controller in the financial services sector. He holds certification as New York State school district administrator, business administrator and certified public accountant. 

Mr. White has a Bachelor of Science degree in finance and a Master of Business Administration in accounting from St. John’s University. He also holds a Master of Science in education and in school administration from LIU Post. He is currently a candidate for a doctoral degree in education from the University of Pennsylvania.
