Each month, Deauville Gardens East Elementary School recognizes a different character trait to highlight to its student body. Good judgment was the character trait for January and students in Ann Marie Byrnes’ third-grade class put on a short play for the school to demonstrate good judgment on Jan. 26.

Students spoke to their peers and performed short skits about following the rules, being responsible, using kind words and making good choices. They reinforced the idea that “the choice is yours” when it comes to good judgment.

Deauville Garden East guidance counselor Lysa Mullady works with students throughout the school on different character traits. Students are given “character counts” cards when they are caught doing a kind act and recognized during the monthly assemblies.
