Kindness Grows in Copiague

Students throughout the district did their part with random acts of kindness. Members of the student council at Susan E. Wiley Elementary School created a kindness tree in December. Located in the main lobby of the school, students gifted and recognized one another with random acts of kindness. Students filled out a kindness tag and placed it on the tree for all to acknowledge the acts of kindness happening all over the school.

For the third consecutive year, the members of the Walter G. O’Connell Copiague High School’s Humanities (SOUL) Club visited the Gerald E. Ryan Outreach Center in December. The club spent a full day working at the outreach center, the largest in the Town of Babylon.

Under the direction of co-advisers Joseph Mannix and Alyssa Marino, SOUL Club members organized toys for underprivileged children and created food baskets to distribute to those in need.
