Student-musicians from the district’s elementary schools and Copiague Middle School participated in the Long Island Flute Festival held at Walter G. O’Connell Copiague High School on Nov. 18.

The Long Island Flute Festival is organized by the Long Island Flute Club and offers the opportunity to flutists of all ages to participate in a day of performances, workshops and concerts. Copiague student-musicians had the chance to work on a solo piece at their level, rehearse music in an ensemble setting with students from other schools at their level, watch a concert given by world-renowned flutist Robert Dick, and perform their ensemble pieces as a group in a concert for their parents.

The district congratulates the following student participants: Madison Allen; Malik Andilza; Caitlyn Carrington; Anamaria Espinosa; Alexa Gourdette; Mariska Kroog; Noemi Marmol; Esmeralda Clara Sanchez; Evelyn Sarmiento; Alyson Tenebro; Vania Vallejo Vasquez; Keyrin Yanes; and Alexa Zepherin.
