Two Copiague Middle School students – Olivia Healy and Sophia Bright – were named winners in the Long Island Science Congress. Olivia’s project on different insulations took an honors award at the ceremony on May 23 at St. Anthony’s High School. Sophia’s project on the effects of pesticides on bees took a high honors award. Long Island Science Congress is an adjudicated exhibit of science projects by students in middle and high schools in Nassau and Suffolk counties, sponsored by the Long Island Sections of the Science Teachers Association of New York State.
