Fourth-grade students at Deauville Gardens East participated in a hands-on science experiment during the week of Feb. 5.

As part of their science lesson, students learned about the internal and external parts of a squid and its unique anatomy and features. Using their new vocabulary, students identified the different parts of the squid. With the assistance of Principal Joseph Buccello, they were able to touch and feel the squid, and used their magnifying glass to observe the details.

During the science lab, the fourth-graders dissected the squid, wrote down their observations and labeled the different parts.
