Walter G. O’Connell Copiague High School senior and accomplished soccer player Asante Carroll will compete on the Division I soccer team at Niagara University this fall after solidifying his commitment by signing a letter of intent.

“He has great speed and is a threat to score when he is on the field,” said varsity soccer coach Jim Konen.
A talented athlete, Carroll was a four-year starter for the Copiague varsity soccer team. He earned the designation of captain for the 2014 and 2015 athletic seasons and played in the positions of striker and midfield. In 2014, he was named an All-League player.

“Next year will be a great challenge, stepping up to the Division I level, but I know Asante is up for the challenge,” said Konen. “He is a great athlete and a fierce competitor. I wish him the best.”
