Marvelous Media Artwork

Eight talented Walter G. O’Connell Copiague High School student-artists were selected to have their artwork displayed in the Long Island Media Arts Show held at Five Towns College.

The Long Island Media Arts Show, sponsored in part by the New York State Education Department’s Summer School of the Media Arts and Eastern Suffolk BOCES, attracts more than 500 students and their teachers from approximately 30 high schools in Suffolk and Nassau counties.

Chosen by their art teacher Lorraine Ciccotto, 11th-graders Claudia Anna Motley and Ashley Hempfling, and 12th-graders Victoria Ferguson, Victoria Grinthal, Jari Rodriguez-Montalvo, Brionna Silva, Estephany Villalobos Rossell and Hajra Zia presented their best artwork to a panel of professionals in the fields of photography and graphic design as well as art teachers. While viewing their artwork and portfolios, evaluators engaged in one-on-one dialogue with students, offering them advice, encouragement and a critical analysis of their work.
